TAHOE DOWNWIND CHAMPIONHSIP
Since its inception in 2009, The Tahoe Waterman Paddle Racing Series (formerly known as Tahoe Cup) has been a combined effort of soulful paddlers, organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and exhibitors, who continue to enjoy, promote and compete in paddlesport racing and events in the Tahoe Basin. The proceeds from the Tahoe Waterman Paddle Racing series benefit the Lake Tahoe Waterman Association and its mission.

The Paddle Jam is the first race in the Tahoe Waterman Paddle Race Series. The Paddle Jam takes place on the pristine waters of Lake Tahoe surrounded by gorgeous peaks, Tahoe is a majestic playground for paddlers, a freshwater mecca in California.
The Lake Tahoe Downwind Championship, The Kaspian Downwinder is a classic downwind run for the Team Tahoe Waterman crew, whenever the wind allows. Lake Tahoe is a sleeper downwind destination.

The Lake Crossing is set apart from paddle races by its length (22 miles) and the majestic paddle across Lake Tahoe, nicknamed the Alpine Caribbean, surrounded by 2000' peaks.
In an effort to support the Lake Tahoe Waterman Association's mission of protecting the ecology of our paddle environments; we have joined efforts with the Sierra Nevada Alliance inviting you to race for a cause and help protect the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe! The Jewel of the Sierra is warming faster than ever leading to invasive weeds, algae, and murky brown water. You can help! Start a team to raise funds to support the Sierra Nevada Alliance dedicated to protecting and preserving natural treasures and communities in Lake Tahoe and the greater Sierra Nevada.
